微分几何与几何分析。

研究兴趣主要集中于曲率流问题、曲线的几何与拓扑、几何不等式、凸几何分析等。

为硕士研究生和博士研究生开设的课程（含讨论班）：《曲率流及其应用》、《凸几何分析》、《几何发展方程》、《Riemann几何》、《曲线的微分几何与拓扑学》、《几何不等式研究》、《凸体几何学》和《极小曲面论》等。

潘生亮，1981年9月至1985年7月在淮北煤炭师范学院（现淮北师范大学）数学系读本科；1985年9月至1988年6月先后在湘潭大学数学系、南开大学数学系和中国科学院数学研究所念研究生（学籍湘潭大学），在中科院数学所王启明教授指导下获理学硕士学位，研究方向为微分几何学；1995年9月至1999年6月在苏州大学姜礼尚教授指导下获理学博士学位，研究方向为偏微分方程；1999年12月至2001年6月在华东师范大学数学博士后流动站跟随沈纯理教授作几何分析研究。曾先后在湘潭大学、苏州大学和华东师范大学任教，现为同济大学数学科学学院教授、博士生导师。
