摘要：A recurring theme in topology is that dynamical systems often give topological invariants of the underlying manifold. Specializing to 3-manifolds, an important class of dynamical systems are pseudo-Anosov flows. These were introduced by Thurston in the 1980s as part of his approach towards proving geometrization. On the other hand, a central topological invariant in the modern landscape is Heegaard Floer homology. This was introduced by Ozsváth-Szabó in the 2000s with motivations from Seiberg-Witten theory on 4-manifolds. In this series of talks, we will explain work with Antonio Alfieri on building a connection between pseudo-Anosov flows and Heegaard Floer homology, via the tool of veering branched surfaces.
